About Us
Sonshine Day Preschool:
A ministry of Westside Baptist Church in Gainesville, Florida.
The Mission:
Sonshine Day is a preschool and daycare committed to caring, teaching and nurturing young children in a Christian environment.
Purpose:
Sonshine Day cares about children and their families and believes it has a responsibility to provide opportunities in which children can develop to their fullest potential. It is our goal to see your child have a happy school experience with us and to begin the total development of a well-rounded Christian personality. Our goal is also to help each child to relate to others and their community. He or she is nurtured to fulfill his/her maximum potential spiritually, physically, cognitively, socially, and emotionally.
Child to Teacher Ratios:
We pride ourselves on our child/teacher ratios. We have teacher assistants in our classrooms and we have floaters who assist in classrooms throughout the day. This exceeds the Department of Children and Families guidelines for ratios. Lower ratios provide higher quality care for your child and an enhanced learning experience.
Sonshine Day Preschool admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of our educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
Sonshine Day is accredited and approved by the Association of Christian Schools International. Accreditation is recognizing that a preschool or child care program meets prescribed standards of care and education, and that a specialized team has validated the integrity of its program. It is a seal of approval many parents are looking for when choosing a quality early education program.
ACSI is the largest association of Christian schools and colleges in the world with a combined enrollment of more than one million students from over five thousand member schools.
